A new electric cooker or oven
Tell me which appliance it replaces, if any, and send the model details of the new one.
Connecting electric cooking appliances
Your new cooker may need a different supply.
A replacement oven or induction hob can have different electrical requirements from the old appliance. Send me the make and model before installation so I can check the existing supply and price any changes it needs.

The job you need
Show me the position you have in mind and send any fitting or appliance details you already have.
Tell me which appliance it replaces, if any, and send the model details of the new one.
The electrical rating needs checking against the circuit. The old connection is not automatically suitable for the new hob.
If the cooker has lost power, I can check its switch and supply. Describe what happened before the problem started.
Tell me when it trips, for example when the oven is switched on. The fault could be in the supply connection or inside the appliance.
During the visit
The existing wiring affects what can be done. I'll check it and explain the work before you agree to it.
I check the new appliance requirements against the existing circuit.
If the connection or supply needs changing, you get the details and price before the work starts.
The electrical connection is checked after installation.
Internal appliance repairs need an appliance technician; gas connections need a gas engineer. If the new hob will not fit the worktop, arrange that alteration separately.
Arranging a visit
Your postcode and a description of the problem give me enough to start. We can then agree a time and the visit charge.
Tell me what's stopped working, or what you'd like installed. A photo is useful if the fitting is difficult to describe.
I'll check when I can get to your address and explain the visit charge before we book a time.
For a repair, the price depends on what I find. I'll explain it before doing that work.
Before you get in touch
Ask about the visit charge when you contact me. Any repair work is priced once I've checked the problem.
Yes. Send the make and model and a photo of the existing connection with its cover closed.
That may need an appliance repair technician. I can check the electrical supply if there is no power to the oven.
If it meets the new appliance requirements, yes. That needs checking before the appliance is connected.
